CREATIVE EUROPE MEDIA CATALUNYA

We are the local Catalan bureau for Creative Europe MEDIA sub program (within the Creative Europe Programme) for Catalan Audio visual professionals.

The Creative Europe Program is the European Commission's program that supports the audio visual and cultural sectors in the period 2021-2027. Continuing the previous Creative Europe programme, with a budget of 2.440 milion € , consists of two sub-programs: the Culture sub-program to promote the cultural sector, and the MEDIA sub-program to support the audio visual sector and a third strand for crossectorial activities which includes innovation labs and news media.

The MEDIA sub-program is open to activities by producers, companies dedicated to new media, sales agents, distributors, festivals, market organizers, companies dedicated to training and exhibitors from the Member States of the European Union and potential new members; EFTA (European Free Trade Association) member countries of the EEA (European Economic Area: Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein).

OBJECTIVES:

To improve the competition of European industry in the European and international market by supporting the training of professionals and the development, distribution and promotion of European audio visual works, taking into account the development of new technologies.

Consolidate the sectors that contribute to the improvement of the transnational circulation of European audio visual works.

Respect European linguistic and cultural diversity along with gender balance, inclusivity and sustainibility within the sector.

Fostering the European audio visual heritage, through the digitization and network interconnection of audio visual archives.

Develop the audio visual sector in countries or regions with a low capacity for audio visual production and / or a reduced geographical or linguistic area, and encourage transnational partnership and cooperation between European SMEs

Encourage the dissemination of new types of audio visual content that use new technologies. Empowering digital tools and virtual reality for new narratives.

Encourage the development of new audiences and image education.
